Patiala, October 18
The district police has made a breakthrough in the murder case of Senior Judge Vijay Singh, which took place at the local polo ground near New Moti Bagh Palace of Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on the night of October 13 by arresting a doctor, Ravdeep Kaur, of this region.

Though the district police authorities and other senior functionaries are tight-lipped, highly placed sources said not only the doctor had been arrested, another person of a village near Punjabi University, Patiala, had also been taken into custody for his alleged involvement in the murder at the alleged instance of the doctor. The man has been identified as Manjit Singh.

Information gathered by TNS revealed that the doctor, who belonged to a high-profile family having good relations with the family of the deceased, planned the murder of Vijay Singh to settle score with him after they fell out with each other on certain issues.

Information revealed that the doctor, who is running a private clinic in this region, motivated Manjit, with whom she had good personal relations, to murder Vijay Singh. As the doctor had all information about the movements of Vijay, she passed the same to Manjit Singh to make it easy for him to carry out the murder. So far the police has interrogated more than 100 persons, including some bigwigs.

Information revealed that Manjit Singh armed with a sword reached the polo ground on his motor cycle as he was having information that Vijay Singh would be coming for his evening walk there.
