New Delhi, September 22
Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Bibi Jagir Kaur’s application for a US visa has not been rejected.
Mr David Kennedy, Press Attache and spokesman in the US Embassy here, told this correspondent that Bibi Jagir Kaur’s visa application was “still alive”. He said when the applicant appeared for an interview at the Embassy yesterday, she was told that it would take some time for the Embassy to take action on the application.
Bibi Jagir Kaur told this correspondent that she spoke to Mr William Bartlett, Consul General, US Embassy, on the telephone this morning and asked whether she was required to furnish some more details. She told him that she had already annexed an order of Punjab and Haryana High Court with her visa application wherein the court had granted her permission to travel abroad. Bibi Jagir Kaur has been chargesheeted as an accused for conspiring the murder of her own daughter.
She said the American diplomat told her that she did not require to furnish anything more and the Embassy, after the necessary verification process, would get back to her. He also told her that the whole process might take some time.
