Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers occurred at most places in Himachal Pradesh and East Uttar Pradesh, at a few places in West Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at isolated places in Punjab and East Rajasthan. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm are: Himachal Pradesh: Pandoh 6, Sundernagar and Sujanpurtira 3 each, Ghamroor and Nadaun 2 each and Nagrotasurian 1, East Uttar Pradesh: Basti 13, Gorakhpur 9, Mukhlishpur 8, Balrampur and Regoli 6 each, Ayodhya, Birdghat, Bahraich, Bhinga, Katerniaghat, Kakardharighat, Palliakalan and Shardanagar 5 each, Jaunpur 4, Bansi 3, Elginbridge, Hanumansetu, Kakrahi, Lucknow controlroom, Sultanpur and Turtipar 2 each and Banda, Dalmau, Ghazipur and Mirzapur 1 each, West Uttar Pradesh: Bareilly 1 and Uttaranchal: Mukteshwar 7, Banbasa 5, Pantnagar 3 and Rishikesh 1.

Forecast valid until the morning of August 17: Rain/thundershowers will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh, East Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, at a few places in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and West Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in East Rajasthan. Weather will be mainly dry in West Rajasthan.
