In a representation to the UT Administrator, senior citizens of the Mauli Jagran area have alleged that certain UT officials were trying to placate the Sarpanch and three panches of the Mauli Jagran gram panchayat who were involved in the panchayat land grab scam.

More complaints pour in against computer firm
Chandigarh, July 17
More complaints of cheating are coming to the police against the Sector 36-D-based computer institute M/s Iland Internet Land. As many as 54 more persons today lodged their complaints, alleging that they were duped by the institute of thousands of rupees.

Panchkula, July 17
A bomb disposal squad of the Army defused the three projectile bombs found by the local police from the Ghaggar riverbed in Sector 28 on Friday night. These bombs are reported to have been swept away into a nullah in Chandi Mandir, which later merges into the Ghaggar.

Lack of political will seems to be responsible for the stray cattle menace in the township. With the elected representatives in the council aiding dairy farmers by getting their cattle released, without paying any fines, a solution to the stray cattle menace seems unlikely.

Man blames son’s suicide on daughter-in-law
Panchkula, July 17
Mystery shrouds the death of Rajat Dheer, a resident of Sector 11 here, who died after consuming poison on July 9. His father, Mr S.K. Dheer, today alleged that he was instigated or fed poison by Anju Bala, the wife of the victim.

3 hurt in road accidents

Three persons suffered injuries in three separate road accidents in the city. In a late night high-speed car crash, two cars were damaged. However, the occupants of the vehicles escaped unhurt in the accident.
