Terror camps exist in Poonch, Rajauri, says Centre
Tribune News Service

New Delhi, June 23
The Centre said today that there were reports about some terrorist training camps in operation in the far-flung border areas of Poonch and Rajauri districts in Jammu and Kashmir and shortly an “intensive combing” operation would be launched to flush out militants.

“There are reports to suggest that terrorist training camps are being run in far-flung and forest areas in Poonch and Rajauri. We have sought detailed reports and will soon launch an intensive combing operation,” Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal, who returned here after a three-day tour of the state, told newspersons at North Block.

“Militants getting training at these camps are suspected to be involved in some of the militant incidents in Jammu and Kashmir,” Mr Jaiswal said.

He, however, did not have any information on the number of such camps, the number of terrorists being trained or whether they were getting support from Pakistan.
