JAGRATA: The Government Vocational School Attendants’ Union, Punjab, has decided to stage a ‘jagrata’ on Saturday outside the residence of the Education Minister Mr Harnam Dass Johar, at Ludhiana to press the Punjab Government to implement their demands.

CONTROL ROOMS: The district administration has set up two flood control rooms at the district Revenue Office here and at the Tehsildar’s Office at Jaito. The telephone numbers of the control rooms are: 250957, 250338 and 230770 said Mr Alok Shekhar, Deputy Commissioner.

APPEAL: The Punjab Beopar Mandal has appealed to the state government to review the hike in power tariff. Laying stress on initiating some concrete steps and measures like checking the theft of power in the transmission, Mr Madan Lal Kapoor, state president of the mandal, in a press statement here on Sunday suggested the government to curtail the expenses of the PSEB.

SONEPAT
CASE SOLVED: The police on Monday claimed that it had solved the case of the alleged murder of Ishan, a three-year-old boy, and arrested his relative Arjun Singh, alias Bholu, Ishan was allegedly kidnapped by Arjun Singh on Friday. The boy was taken to a deserted place where he was allegedly murdered.

SUICIDE: Aruna (10) reportedly committed suicide by taking celphos tablets at her residence at Akbarpur Barota village on Sunday. A family dispute is stated to be the cause of the suicide.

ARRESTED: Virender, alias Kala, a former driver of Mr Sukhbir Singh Farmana, an MLA of the NCP, was arrested on Monday by the police on the charge of committing theft at Bhatgaon village. The culprit had taken away Rs 40,000 in cash and other valuables.

DEAD: Mr Ganpat Rai Sharma, a veteran freedom fighter, died because of heat wave in his house at Himayunpur village on Sunday.

The camp at Trilokpur was presided over by Additional District and Sessions Judge Sushil Kukreja and at Narag Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Rajgarh, Bahadur Singh presided over.
