New Delhi, May 30
The two-member Election Commission team, which made a preliminary assessment of the ground situation in Bihar ahead of the Assembly re-elections is expected to submit its report to the Commission tomorrow.

The team members, who returned here last night, today met two of the three Election Commissioners, including Chief Election Commissioner B B Tandon, and apprised them of the ground realities in the state, EC sources said.

Deputy Election Commissioner Anand Kumar and Commission’s legal adviser S.K. Mehendiratta during their three-day tour of the state sought the views of political parties and officials on the re-election, while visiting some districts for an on-the-spot survey.

District Magistrates in Bihar have favoured a one-day poll in November 15 after floods and keeping in mind certain festivals.

While the RJD and other UPA allies want the polls in November, if not later, the opposition NDA favour mid-July elections.

Elections in Bihar have been necessitated following dissolution of the 243-member Assembly after no party or alliance could form government for three months following a badly fractured verdict in the previous polls held in February-March this year.
