Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at a few places in Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh) has recorded 1cm of rainfall.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures rose appreciably in Haryana and Punjab, rose in Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: They were appreciably below normal in Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, below normal in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab and normal in the rest of the region. The highest maximum temperature in the region was 40.8°C recorded at Bikaner (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning of May 9: Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at isolated places in Punjab, east Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of May 9: Partly cloudy sky. The maximum temperature will be around 39°C.
