Talks on Amritsar-Lahore bus service on May 10, 11

The technical-level talks for the Amritsar-Lahore bus service and bus service to religious places such as Nankana Sahib will be held on May 10 and 11 in Lahore, the Ministry of External Affairs announced today.

The Indian delegation would be led by Mr Alok Rawat, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Surface Transport. On the same dates (May 10 and 11), there would be the technical-level meeting between the Coast Guards and 
Pakistan Maritime Agency in Islamabad to take the work forward for establishing communications between the two organisations.

This is one of the Confidence Building Measures (CBMs) that was agreed to after the Foreign Secretaries’ meeting in June last.

The delegation from the Indian side will be led by Director-General, Coast Guards. On May 25 and 26, there would be the second round of the Composite Dialogue on the Siachen issue at the Defence Secretaries’ level.

On May 27 and 28, there would be talks on the Sir Creek issue and these would be led by the Surveyor-Generals from both sides. Both these meetings would also be held in Islamabad.
