Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at isolated places in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, east Rajasthan and Uttaranchal. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm are: Haryana: Rania 1; Jammu and Kashmir: Srinagar 1; and Punjab: Nangal 1.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures rose appreciably in east Uttar Pradesh, fell markedly in Himachal Pradesh, fell appreciably in Haryana and Punjab and changed little elsewhere. Departure: They were largely below normal in west Uttar Pradesh, markedly below normal in Haryana, Punjab and Uttaranchal, appreciably below normal in Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The highest maximum temperature in the region was 39.6°C recorded at Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh).

Forecast valid until the morning of May 4: Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Uttaranchal, and at isolated places in east Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. Iisolated duststorm/thunderstorm is likely in west Rajasthan. Isolated thundersqualls are likely in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Uttaranchal.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of May 4: Partly cloudy sky with possibility of light rain/thundershowers in some areas. The maximum temperature will be around 34°C.
