Temperature: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures fell in west Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere. Departure: This was appreciably above normal in Jammu and Kashmir and east Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The highest maximum temperature in the region was 42.2°C recorded at Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh).

Forecast valid until the morning of April 20: Rain/thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.
