Strike leaves petrol stations dry New Delhi, April 18 However, company-owned-company-operated outlets, constituting nearly 20 per cent of over 25,000 petrol stations in the country, remained unaffected. Though an official panel submitted a report to the government in February recommending an increase in remuneration paid to the dealers, government has given no indication to implement the report, said Mr Ashok Badhwar, President, Federation of All-India Petroleum Traders. “We were on a day-long strike today. Petrol pumps all over the country shut operations at midnight. This is a 24-hour strike. We will intensify the agitation if our demands are not met,” he said. |
