Rainfall: Rain/snow has occurred at many places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Uttaranchal. Rain/thundershowers have occurred at a few places in Haryana and Punjab and at isolated places in east Uttar Pradesh. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of precipitation in cms are: Jammu and Kashmir: Banihal and Quazzigund 2 each and Batote 1.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures rose appreciably in west Uttar Pradesh, rose in Haryana and Uttaranchal, fell largely in Jammu and Kashmir, fell appreciably in Punjab east Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere.

Departures: They markedly above normal n Uttaranchal, appreciably above normal in Haryana and Himachal Pradesh, above normal in Rajasthan, appreciably below normal in Jammu and Kashmir, below normal in Punjab and normal in the rest of the region. The highest maximum temperature in the region was 33.6°C recorded at Varanasi AP. (Uttar Pradesh).

Past 24 hours change: The minimum temperatures fell in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and changed little elsehwere.

Departures: they were appreciably above normal in Himachal Pradesh and east Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest minimum temperature in the plains was 9.4°C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of March 8: Rain/snow will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir. Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places in Haryana and Punjab and at isolated places in the rest of the region. Isolated hailstorm is likely in Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of March 8: Partly cloudy sky with possibility of thundry development/light rain in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 31°C and 16°C respectively.
