Chandigarh, March 5
Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda, MP from the Rohtak constituency, was sworn in as the 19th Chief Minister of Haryana by the Governor, Mr A.R. Kidwai, at a crowded function held on the lawns of Raj Bhavan here today. Mr Hooda is expected to constitute his Council of Ministers at a later date.

Close on the heels of Goa, President’s rule appears to be on the cards in Bihar with no combination being in a position at least at this juncture to rustle up the magic figure of 122 for a simple majority in the 243-member Assembly.

RJD stakes claim to form govt
Patna, March 5
Bihar today appeared hurtling towards imposition of President’s Rule with Governor Buta Singh saying he would invite only a combination that submitted sworn affidavits of at least 122 MLAs required for a simple majority as the impasse continued over government formation.
