INLD’s second list of nominees has 25 names Chandigarh, January 11 With this list, the number of declared nominees of the INLD has gone up to 72. The party had released its first list of 47 candidates in Delhi last week. There are 90 constituencies in the state. The second list, Mr Chautala said, included eight youths, seven Harijans, five persons from Backward Classes, eight Jats, one Muslim and one Brahmin. The two ministers in the list were Mr M. L. Ranga from Meham constituency and Mr Bahadur Singh from Loharu. To a question, Mr Chautala said he would file his nomination papers in Narwana constituency on January 14. He evaded a query as to whether he would contest the polls from two constituencies, but admitted that his supporters wanted him to contest from Badli seat also. Asked whether he had left the remaining 18 seats for the Bahujan Samaj Party, he denied that he had any talks with that party for alliance with the INLD so far. The BJP, the erstwhile ally of the INLD, is contesting Assembly elections independently this time and has already announced 75 of its candidates. However, the main opposition, Congress, was still finalising its nominees and yet to announce its first list. — UNI
