Strong quake strikes off Indonesia’s coast

Hong Kong, January 6
A 6.2-magnitude earthquake today struck near the site of last week's Tsunami-inducing quake off Indonesia's coast, the Hong Kong Observatory said.

The tremor was centered in waters 60 km west of Banda Aceh, the capital of the Indonesian province devastated by a 9.0-magnitude quake and resulting Tsunami on December 26, the observatory said.

Late yesterday, s 5.6-magnitude quake hit the same area, the observatory said.
