Rainfall: Weather was mainly dry over the region.

Deperatures: Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures fell in east Uttar Pradesh, rose appreciably in Uttaranchal, rose in Himachal Pradesh and changed little elsewhere.

Departures: They were above normal in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 0.7°C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of January 7, 2005: Rain/snow is likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of January 6, 2005: Partly cloudy sky. Mist/fog in the morning. Minimum temperature will be around 7°C.
