Rainfall:
Rain and snow has occurred at many places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir. Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in east Uttar Pradesh, at a few places in west Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in Haryana. Weather was dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of precipitation in cms are: Himachal Pradesh: Kahu 1 and Uttaranchal: Mukteshwar 1.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures fell appreciably in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, fell in Jammu and Kashmir and changed little elsewhere. Departures: They were above normal in east Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 0.7°C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of January 6, 2005: Rain/snow is likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.
