Patna, December 26
Even as the Congress high command is still to reach a seat-sharing agreement with the RJD for the Bihar Assembly poll, the Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee today received a panel of four names for all the 243 constituencies.
During a meeting of district presidents, party observers and assistant observers appointed for all the seats, BPCC president Ram Jatan Sinha received a panel of four names for all the 243 constituencies.
The list will be final-ised by the state party unit by tomorrow and will be sent to the party high command for a final decision, a party release quoting Mr Sinha said here.
On the directives of the AICC, the state party had constituted a three-member team of district presidents, party observers and assistant observers to shortlist four names for all the 243 constituencies in the state.
Mr Sinha said the final decision on how many seats the Congress would field its candidates would be taken by the AICC President Sonia Gandhi.
“We will abide by the decision taken by Mrs Sonia Gandhi,” he added.
Meanwhile, the All-India United Muslim Morcha today asked the Congress to snap ties with the RJD.
“Muslims are disappointed with the RJD and see the Congress as an alternative. The Congress should bring together all the parties opposed to the BJP and the RJD on a platform and fight the poll,” morcha’s president M Ejaz Ali said in a statement
