Islamabad, December 10
At least 11 persons, including a soldier, were killed and 25 injured when a powerful bomb exploded near an army vehicle in a busy market area in Pakistan’s southwest city of Quetta today.

The bomb, fitted to a bicycle, went off in the main Meezan square in Quetta, the capital of Baluchistan province, around 1.45 pm IST, officials said.

Defence spokesman Maj-Gen Shaukat Sultan said a soldier was among the dead. Four army personnel were also injured.

Rest of those killed and injured were civilians, he said, adding “it was a terrorist act and police are investigating”. — PTI
