Tribune News Service

Amritsar, September 17
Chief Minister Amarinder Singh may or may not like it but his name figures among the five members to be on the Advisory panel of the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (PSGPC).

Capt Amarinder Singh has been taken on the panel along with Jathedar Akal Takht, and representatives of the SGPC and the Delhi Gurdwara Management Committee, besides the Jathedar of Patna Sahib or Hazoor Sahib, on rotation.

This was stated by Mr Manmohan Singh Khalsa, a UK-based leader of the Dal Khalsa, while talking to TNS on the phone today. He claimed that the 15-member advisory panel, including five members from India, had been finalised by senior officials of the Pakistan government after consulting top Sikh leaders of the world .

Though an informal meeting of the PSGPC had okayed the name of Nankana Sahib-based Sikh leader, Mr Mastan Singh, as regular president, the formal announcement in this regard would be made shortly .

This is for the first time that a regular president had been nominated since that formation of the PSGPC on April 17.

The 10-member executive body has given representation to the Sikhs from different provinces of Pakistan. The members include Mr Mastan Singh , Mr Rawel Singh and Mr Bishan Singh, (all from Nankana Sahib, Mr Tara Singh, Mr Mahesh Singh and Mr Sham Singh, all from Sindh , Mr Satnam Singh from Balauchistan, and Mr Sujan Singh from Suba Sarhad etc .

The advisory committee has reportedly taken five leaders from other countries. They include Dr Pritpal Singh, president of the American Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee, Dr Ganga Singh Dhillon, president of the Nankana Sahib Foundation, Mr Kesar Singh Mand , a UK-based Dal Khalsa leader , Mr Joga Singh, UK based Babbar Khalsa leader , Mr Daljit Singh Shergill , Mr Chain Singh, a leader of SAD (Amritsar) from France, and Mr Satinder Singh from Canada.

Apart from them five parliamentarians from Pakistan have been nominated on the panel .

Mr Khalsa said the Pakistan government was contemplating to ban the entry of Mr Harpal Singh Bhullar , president Bhai Mardana Yadgari Foundation due to his alleged ‘irresponsible’ statements regarding the recent developments in the PSGPC.
