Air Sahara joins fare war New Delhi, September 13 While Jet Airways announced its Check fares on Saturday in a bid to give a fight to the low-cost Air Deccan, Air Sahara announced its Steal fares scheme which is quite similar to the former’s fare scheme. The fares in it will also be about 30 to 45 per cent lower than normal fares but again it will be subject to availability and on select routes and flights. Both Jet Airways and Air Sahara’s initiative will complement the already existing advance purchase (apex) fares. A press note issued by Air Sahara here said the traffic on each flight would determine the availability of seats under the fares everyday. Air Sahara’s Steal fares will be available to passengers in two categories of a higher and lower level of fare basis. Just like the Check fares, the Steal fares will also not need to be booked in advance, which is the case in apex fares. As per the scheme, the Delhi-Mumbai ticket will be available at Rs 4,250 on the lower level and Rs 5,150 on the higher level. A Delhi-Bangalore coupon will cost Rs 5,855 on the lower level and Rs 7,150 on the higher level. The normal fare exceeds Rs 10,000. The initiative is applicable for six sectors — five connecting Delhi with Guwahati, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai besides Mumbai and Bangalore. A one-way economy ticket on the Delhi-Hyderabad route will be available for Rs 4,750 (level 1) and Rs 5,950 (level 2), while the Delhi-Chennai fares will be Rs 5,850 (level 1) and Rs 7,150 (level 2). The Delhi-Guwahati fares will be Rs 5,750 (level 1) and Rs 6,750 (level 2). The flights on which the fares will be applicable are S2-111/112, S2-205/203/ 202, S2-213/214, S2-135/136, S2-122/123, S2-142/143. Meanwhile, Jet Airways today extended the scheme to four additional sectors — Delhi-Patna-Delhi, Delhi-Lucknow-Delhi, Mumbai-Ahmedabad-Mumbai and Mumbai-Rajkot-Mumbai. |
