Officer deposes in Siachen case

Jodhpur, June 10
A military court today recorded the statement of an Army officer in the Siachen "fake killings" case regarding misuse of identity card and purchase of a mobile phone from the unit fund by the then Commanding Officer of Gorkha rifles.

Capt Sudhir Chamoli said Col K. D. Singh was issued a new identity card after his promotion as Commanding Officer last year and as per rules his old card was taken back and cut to pieces and burnt. — PTI
