Telgi sent to CBI custody

Stamp scam kingpin Abdul Karim Telgi was today produced before a Delhi court and remanded to CBI custody for 14 days with the agency claiming that he had to be quizzed in connection with the recovery of fake stamp papers worth Rs 220 crore from here almost two years ago.

Metropolitan Magistrate V.K. Khanna sent Telgi to CBI custody till June 23 after Special Public Prosecutor J.S. Wadia submitted that he had to be taken back to Yervada jail in Pune, from where he was brought here, by June 25. — PTI
