1984 victims’ memo to PM

New Delhi, June 3
Survivors of the anti-Sikh riots in 1984 today submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, calling for a resolution to be passed by Parliament condemning the riots.

“The 1984 riots should be condemned by one and all in Parliament so that such incidents do not happen again,” said convener, All-India Riot Victim Relief Committee, K.S. Bhogal.

“We also urged the Prime Minister that a memorial should be built in Delhi in the memory of thousands of Sikhs who were killed in the riots,” Mr Bhogal said.

The memorandum said as Congress leader Jagdish Tytler had a major role in the riots he should be immediately removed. — PTIBack
