Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers have been reported at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures rose in east Rajasthan, fell appreciably in Jammu and Kashmir, fell in east Uttar Pradesh and changed a little elsewhere. Departure: They were markedly above normal in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Uttaranchal, appreciably above normal in Rajasthan, above normal in west Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 47.1°C recorded at Churu (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning of May 20: Rain/thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.
