New Delhi, May 18
The Army said today that three senior Army officers — Major-Gen P.S.K. Choudhary (retd), Brig Iqbal Singh and Col Anil Sehgal — had been found culpable of various acts of omission and commission in the Tehelka case.
An Army spokesman said here that the disciplinary proceedings against the three officers involved in the Tehelka case were in advanced stages of completion.
The initial court of inquiry and summary of evidence had been recorded in all three cases and officers found to be culpable.
Accordingly, the Army has now launched general court martial proceedings against Colonel Sehgal from April 5, while that against General Choudhary is to commence from May 24.
The spokesman said in case of Brig Iqbal Singh the court martial proceedings had been held in abeyance as the officer had filed a case in the Delhi High Court challenging the disciplinary action against him.
Further action against Brig Iqbal would be initiated on the directions of the High Court, which would take up the case on July 26.
