akhand path
: The management of Gurdwara Sahibzada Baba Zorawar Singh Ji in Bhai Himmat Singh Nagar here will begin an akhand path on Friday near the unmanned railway crossing where a number of schoolchildren, traveling by a Maruti van, were killed when a Hissar-bound passenger train rammed into it a few days ago. A press note by the gurdwara management said here on Thursday that the akhand paath would begin at 11 am on May 14 and conclude at 10 am on May 16. Kirtan would be held from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm and the last prayers would be said at 1 pm on May 16. Langar would be served at 1.30 pm.

100 per cent result: Nankana Sahib Senior Secondary Public School, Kot Gangu Rai, has got cent per cent result in the Plus Two science and commerce examination conducted by the Punjab School Education Board this year. All 18 students of the science stream got the first division.

Tractor stolen
: A tractor trailer of a farmer of Baghapurana town in this district who had parked the trailer was driven away by some persons. A complaint was made with the police.

Asthma cases on rise: Cases of Asthma are on the increase in the district due to the burning of paddy straw by farmers.

Liquor seized: The police here seized 97 boxes of IMF liquor and arrested driver of the truck.
