New Delhi, May 8
Campaigning in the scorching heat and dust for the final phase of polling for 182 parliamentary seats in 16 states and Union Territories ended today amidst predictions of a hung Parliament.

Besides Uttar Pradesh (18), where a good showing by any party was likely to boost its claim for power in New Delhi, polling would also be held in the seat-heavy Tamil Nadu (39) and West Bengal (42).

Voting would also take place in Haryana (10), Himachal Pradesh (4), Punjab (13), Kerala (20), Jammu and Kashmir (2), Madhya Pradesh (17), Uttaranchal (5), Delhi (7), Chandigarh (1), Lakshadweep (1), Pondicherry (1), Assam (1) and Sikkim (1).
