Bathinda
School celebrates annual day: The Kendriya Vidyalaya (No 1) celebrated its annual day here yesterday. Brig Jitender Singh, Station Commander, who was the chief guest, asked the staff and students to excel in studies and sports. A cultural function and prize distribution function was also held.

Ludhiana
YOGA: The Rotary Club Ludhiana North, organised a talk on the “Importance of yoga and its benefits” here on Wednesday. Mr Krishan Lal Gupta, president of the Punjab Unit of the Bhartiya Yog Sansthan, was the guest speaker. He demonstrated various “asans” with the help of acharays Parveen Kumar and Om Parkash Bedi.

COMMON TEST: Final year students of undergraduate courses in the Doraha Institute of Management and technology, (DMIT), Doraha, aspiring to take admission to MBA and MCA courses, have welcomed the decision of the Punjab Government to hold a common entrance test for admission to different colleges of state universities. The Director of the institute Dr R.S. Gupta, has also appreciated the decision of the Principal Secretary, Technical Education and Industrial Training, Punjab, in this regard.

Laughter session on May 2: The Fragrance Laughter Club, a member of Laughter Club International, Mumbai, is organising a special laughter session on the occasion of World Laughter Day from 5 pm on May 2 at Fragrance Garden, Sector 36, Chandigarh.
