Repolling in 404 stations today New Delhi, April 22 With this, the commission has ordered repoll in 588 polling booths, falling in as many as 11 states. Thirteen states and three union territories were covered in the first round of voting. The repoll would be held tomorrow. The commission ordered repolling in 349 polling stations in Bihar, 49 polling stations in Jharkhand, besides six more polling stations in Manipur, EC sources said. In Bihar, the constituencies where repoll would be held are Barh (17 booths), Patna (18), Nalanda (12), Arrah (38), Buxar (22), Sasaram (10), Bikramganj (53), Aurangabad (42), Jahanabad (6), Nawada (44), and Gaya (32). In Jharkhand, repoll would be held in Chatra (13 booths), Kodarma (12), Giridih (6), Dhanbad (3), Palamu (5) and Hazaribagh (10). External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha is the BJP candidate in Hazaribagh. Meanwhile, the EC said the poll percentage in the first round of polling in 140 Lok Sabha seats has increased substantially. The overall polling is estimated to be close to 60 per cent. |

in Tripura Agartala, April 22 The polling process concluded in this North-Eastern state amid heavy security cover without any untoward incident, Chief Electoral Officer K.V. Satyanarayan said after the polling closed at 1700 hours. There are 12 candidates in the fray for the two Lok Sabha seats in the state. No untoward incident was reported from anywhere in the state.
