Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers occurred at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The rainfall at Bhuntar and Patsio in Himachal Pradesh was 2 cm.

Temperatures: (past 24 hours change): Maximum temperatures fell in Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: They were markedly above normal in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, appreciably above normal in Rajasthan, above normal in Haryana and Punjab and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 43.9°C recorded at Churu (Rajasthan).

Forecast (valid until the morning of April 23): Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Punjab and Uttaranchal. Duststorms/thunderstorms are likely in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood (valid until the morning of April 23): Partly cloudy sky with possibility of duststorm/ thunderstorm accompanied with squall in some areas. Maximum temperature will be around 40°C.

Farmers’ weather bulletin for Delhi (forecast valid until the morning of April 23): Sky will be partly cloudy. Squall with wind speed exceeding 65 km ph. is likely at isolated places.
