Heat wave conditions have abated from Haryana, including Delhi, Punjab and Rajasthan.

Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers have occurred at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir. Weather was dry in the rest of the region.

Temperatures: Past hours change: Maximum temperatures fell markedly in west Rajasthan, fell appreciably in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and East Rajasthan and changed little elsewhere. Departures: These were appreciably above normal in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, above normal Punjab and east Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 44.4°C recorded at Allahabad (Uttar Pradesh).

Forecast valid until the morning of April 20: Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Punjab and Uttaranchal. Isolated duststorms/thunderstorms are likely in Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh.Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of April 20: Heat wave conditions have abated from Delhi. Partly cloudy sky with dust haze. Maximum temperature will be around 39°C.
