Lal gets additional charge as Haryana DGP

Chandigarh, April 11
B.R. LalMr B.R. Lal has been given the additional charge as the Director-General of Police, Haryana. He is expected to take charge of his new assignment on his arrival here from Gurgaon tomorrow.

Mr Lal is presently the Managing Director of the Haryana Police Housing Corporation. A 1976-batch IPS officer, he is the seniormost police officer in the state and is scheduled to retire on May 31.

Mr Lal has been given the additional charge as the DGP following Mr M.S. Malik proceeding on long leave. The Election Commission had directed the state government to shift Mr Malik to a post not related with the election process as his wife, Krishna, was a candidate for the Sonepat Lok Sabha seat.
