Rainfall: Weather was mainly dry over the region.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures fell appreciably in Jammu and Kashmir and changed a little elsewhere. Departures: These were largely above normal in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan and Uttaranchal, markedly above normal in Haryana, Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh and appreciably above normal in east Uttar Pradesh. The highest temperature in the region was 41.8°C recorded at Barmer (Rajasthan).

Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures fell in east Uttar Pradesh, rose in Haryana, west Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh and changed a little elsewhere. Departures: They were markedly above normal in Haryana and Rajasthan, appreciably above normal in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and above normal in West Uttar Pradesh. The lowest temperature in the plains was 14.0°C recorded at Adampur in Punjab.

Forecast valid until the morning of March 21: Rain or snow is likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of March 21: Mainly clear sky. Slight fall in day and night temperatures. Maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 35°C and 18°C, respectively.
