Rainfall: Weather was dry over the region.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures rose in Jammu and Kashmir and east Rajasthan and changed little elsewhere. Departure: They were largely above normal in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, markedly above normal in Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttaranchal and appreciably above normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 40.4°C recorded at Barmer (Rajasthan).

Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures changed little. Departure: They were markedly above normal in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and west Rajasthan, appreciably above normal in Haryana, Punjab, east Rajasthan and Uttaranchal and above normal in Uttar Pradesh. The lowest temperature in the plains was 13°C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of March 17: Rain or snow is likely at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of March 17: Mainly clear sky. Maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 34°C and 18°C, respectively.
