Tribune News Service

Jammu, March 15
Fourteen passengers of a mini-bus were killed and 23 injured as the overloaded vehicle fell into a nullah at Batroo near Ramban in Doda district today.

The condition of four injured was stated to be critical. The injured have been admitted to a hospital at Ramban, 180 km from here on the Jammu-Srinagar highway. Those in serious condition are being shifted to the medical college hospital here.

The police said 11 persons died on the spot while three succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.

The ill-fated Matador was on its way to Ramban from Ukhral when the driver apparently lost control over the vehicle while negotiating a turn.

The police and doctors reached the spot from Ramban to extricate the dead and those injured. Three critically injured were flown here in a helicopter.
