Samata to field two
candidates
Jhajjar, February 18
The Samata party would field its
candidates in two Parliamentary constituencies in Haryana. This was
announced by Mr Shishpal Beniwal, state president of the party, at a
press conference here today.
CM inaugurates 132
KV sub-station in Bhiwani
Bhiwani, February 18
The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Om
Prakash Chautala, said that 71 new sub-stations had been set up and
the capacity of 240 sub-stations had been increased at a cost of Rs
532 crore in order to improve the power supply in the state. The Chief
Minister was addressing a public meeting after inaugurating a 132 KV
sub-station in the industrial area of Bhiwani.

Three
of Tehsildar office held for taking bribe
New Delhi, February 18
The Anti-Corruption Branch of
Delhi Government arrested three persons, identified as Mahesh Chander,
Kanoongo and Harish Chand Khulbe, employed in the office of the
Tehsildar, Notification Branch in Kashmere Gate area, for allegedly
demanding and accepting Rs 2,100 as bribe.

The entire city of Sonepat,
having a population of more than two lakhs, remained without water for
24 hours at a stretch following the disruption in the drinking water
supply system yesterday.

The Chief Judicial Magistrate has
summoned the Station House Officer, Mr Mehar Singh of Sadar police
station Sonepat on February 20 in a criminal case filed against him by
Mr Kulbir of Bayyanpur village. The complainant alleged that the SHO
had tortured him during the police custody.

Faridabad, February 18
Two scooter-borne youths snatched
Rs 65,000 from an employee of a manufacturing unit here yesterday. The
incident took place in the Sarai Khwaja police station area when the
victim, identified as Udham Singh, employed as a cashier in a company
here, was returning to the factory after withdrawing the money from
the bank.
