A young couple, in the reproductive age group, went in for a tubectomy after a great deal of persuasion by family doctors. To their surprise, the lady has delivered a child despite the operation.

Senior police officials of the Meerut zone are trying to crack the mystery of the missing fully loaded carbine. The Inspector General of Police, Meerut Zone, Mr R K Tiwari, has directed the Senior Superintendent of Police, Meerut, to crack the case on a priority basis. The SSP Meerut has responded by asking all SHOs and circle officials in the area to look into the matter.

Come February the Delhiites will have first time experience of digital cinema, considered a milestone in the film industry. A three-day Broadcast Engineering Society of India Expo-2004 begins here on February 4, showcasing digital cinema as well as feature briefings on its technology by experts at a five-star hotel here.

Expect another cloudy day today

The skies in the Capital remained overcast today after yesterday’s rain, which revived the chill following a week of mostly sunny weather. The western disturbance, which caused the rain, is passing over Delhi and the cloudy conditions are likely to persist tomorrow, with the possibility of light rain in some areas, a spokesman of the weather office said.

The Indo Tibetan Border Police has bagged the Best Marching Contingent Trophy for this year’s Republic Day parade.
