Rainfall: Rain or snow occurred at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in East Rajasthan, at a few places in Haryana and West Rajasthan and at isolated places in Punjab and West Uttar Pradesh. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of precipitation in cm are: Himachal Pradesh: Bhang and Dhundhi 2 each and Solangnala 1; West Rajasthan: Bikaner 1; and West Uttar Pradesh: Jhansi 1.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures rose appreciably in Punjab, rose in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, West Rajasthan and Uttaranchal and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: They were markedly above normal in West Rajasthan, appreciably above normal in Haryana, East Rajasthan and Uttaranchal, above normal in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab and normal in Uttar Pradesh. The lowest temperature in the plains was 4.2°C recorded at Amritsar.

Forecast valid until the morning of January 23. Rain or snow will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places in Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of January 23: Mainly cloudy sky with rain/thundershowers in some areas. Mist/fog till forenoon. Minimum temperature will be around 9°C.
