Vohra meets Advani

New Delhi, January 5
Centre’s interlocutor on Jammu and Kashmir N N Vohra today briefed Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani on the prevailing situation, specially with regard to the ongoing peace process in Jammu and Kashmir.

The meeting between Mr Advani and Mr Vohra was specially important from the point of view of a possible meeting between the Deputy Prime Minister and the Hurriyat leaders. Mr Vohra updated Mr Advani about last week’s meeting of the Coordination Group set up by the Centre to lay the ground-work for Mr Advani’s talks with the Hurriyat leaders.

The Coordination Group, comprising Mr Vohra, Home Secretary N Gopalaswami, Cabinet Secretary Kamal Pande, IB Director K.P. Singh, and OSD in the Prime Minister’s Office A.S. Dulat, had met here to review the status of work being done for holding talks between Advani and the Hurriyat leaders.
