The Congress was quick to come to party president Sonia Gandhi’s rescue and promptly dispatched a two-page letter to the Election Commission (EC) today in response to the EC’s notice on the violation of the model code of conduct.
Hurriyat meeting
inconclusive

A crucial general council meeting of the Hurriyat Conference to discuss the Centre’s offer of talks remained inconclusive today, even as dissident faction leaders continued to stay away. Any decisions taken at today’s meeting would be announced by Hurriyat leaders at Jama Masjid during Friday prayers here tomorrow.
