Rainfall:
Rain or thundershowers have been reported at most places in Himachal Pradesh, east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, at many places in west Uttar Pradesh, at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab and at isolated places in Haryana and east Rajasthan. Weather was dry in west Rajasthan. The chief amounts of rainfall in cms are: Haryana: Naraingarh 3 and Chandigarh 1; Himachal Pradesh: Berthin and Bharwain 13 each, Ghamroor 7, Guler and Solangnala 6 each, Kangra 5, Sujanpur Tira 4, Nagrota Surian, Shimla and Sundernagar 3 each, Bhang, Kahu, Kasol, Nadaun, Paonta Sahib and Sunibhaji 2 each and Dhundhi, Kasauli, Kandaghat and Pandoh 1 each; Jammu and Kashmir: Jammu 7 and Batote 1, Punjab: Nangal 5, Ropar 3, Nawanshahr 2 and Batala 1; east Rajasthan: Mahidam 1; east Uttar Pradesh: Kakrahi 11, Balrampur Balmikinagar and Gorakhpur 10 each, Rae Bareli and Turtipar 9 each, Birdghat, Fatehgarh, Ghazipur and Regoli 8 each, Bhatpurwaghat and Dalmau 7 each, Ayodhya, Bansi, Hanumansetu and Palliakalan 6 each, Bahraich, Lucknow A.P. Mukhlishpur, Neemsar and Shardanagar 5 each, Bani, Bhinga, Kanpur and Mirzapur 4 each, Banda, Ballia, Chillaghat, Jaunpur and Katerniaghat 3 each, Allahabad, Elginbridge and Varanasi A.P. 2 each and Kakardharighat 1; west Uttar Pradesh: Bareilly 8, Hamirpur and Shahjina 5 each and Dabri 3; and Uttaranchal: Pantnagar 19, Banbasa 5, Hardwar, Haripur and Joshimath 3 each, Dehra Dun and Mukteshwar 2 each and Marora, Tehri and Uttarkashi 1 each.

Forecast valid until the morning of August 21: Rain or thundershowers are likely at many places in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, at a few places in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir and east Rajasthan and at isolated places in west Rajasthan.

Heavy rainfall warning: Heavy rain at a few places with very heavy rain at isolated places are likely in Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal during the next 48 hours. Isolated heavy rain is also likely in Himachal Pradesh and Punjab during the same period.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of August 21: Mainly cloudy sky with rain/thundershowers in some areas.

Farmers’ weather bulletin for Delhi, forecast valid until the morning of August 21: Light or moderate rain is likely at a few places.
