Stone deaf BSNL fined for harassing subscriber
Sonepat, August 17
The District Consumer Forum has penalised the Bharatiya Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) and directed it to make a payment of Rs 12,000 along with interest to a subscriber who was issued wrong telephone bills and his connection was severed. In its judgement, the forum has also directed that the amount should be deducted from the salary of the errant accounts officer.

Following a sharp decline in the number of inmates and teaching staff, the government has decided to shift the local blind training institute to Panipat.
