Mumbai, July 30
Barring stray incidents of stone-throwing in parts of the city and disruption of road and rail traffic, the Opposition-sponsored Mumbai bandh to protest against Monday’s blast in a bus and pay homage to the victims was by and large peaceful, the police said today.

Road and rail services were thrown out of gear as Shiv Sainiks blocked traffic by squatting on tracks and main thoroughfares.

Early today, long-distance train services were disrupted for a brief period. However, Shiv Sena activists allowed the Rajdhani and August Kranti Express trains to proceed to Mumbai Central, railway sources said. — PTI
