New Delhi, July 25
The BJP today took strong exception to Congress President Sonia Gandhi’s statement that her party would continue to press for punishing the culprits of Babri mosque demolition inside and outside Parliament.

Briefing newspersons, BJP spokesperson V.K. Malhotra said, “We take exception to Mrs Gandhi’s statement as punishing an accused is the job of the court.”

Reminding the Congress that the matter was sub judice and the court was yet to decide who were the culprits and who were innocent, the BJP spokesperson said, “It would be better for the Congress to send its lawyers to the court hearing the Ayodhya case to put forth their arguments instead of talking of an agitation inside and outside Parliament.”

On the women’s reservation Bill, the BJP sought the cooperation of the Congress for the passage of the same in the current monsoon session.
