TN Magistrate suspended in molestation case

Chennai, June 24
The Madras High Court has placed under suspension Palacode Judicial Magistrate Panneerselvam following allegations that he attempted to outrage the modesty of a woman at Kavapatti village, Palacode, in Dharmapuri district of Tamil Nadu on June 21 night.

The decision to suspend Mr Panneerselvam with immediate effect, pending inquiry, was taken at a full court meeting, chaired by Mr Chief Justice B.Subhashan Reddy, yesterday, the High Court Registry informed newspersons here today. A bootlegger, Selvi (25), had complained to the police that the Magistrate forcibly entered her house and tried to molest her. — UNI
