Harkat, Laden accounts frozen

Islamabad, June 21
Pakistan has frozen accounts of banned terrorist outfit Harkat-ul-Mujahideen and those in the name of Osama bin Laden and several other individuals and organisations. The Pakistan government has frozen Pakistani Rs 621.41 million of 15 terrorist organisations and individuals in nine banks and refused income tax exemptions to 10 NGOs, the News has reported.

Accounts of the Al Rasheeda Trust, which appears on the list of banned terrorist groups given by the USA, have also been frozen. The data on the action has been submitted to the international watchdogs on terror financing who have been operating directly or indirectly under the office of Foreign Assets Control of the United States of America.

These watchdogs are currently working on the sources of finances of these organisations and individuals, some of whom are in the custody of anti-terror organisations. UNI
