PM for consensus on sending troops to Iraq

New Delhi, June 15
The government today said a decision on sending Indian troops to Iraq would be taken only after a series of consultations with political parties. The announcement was made after a meeting between Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Leader of the Opposition, Sonia Gandhi.

PEC set to become deemed varsity
Chandigarh, June 15
After years of toil, Punjab Engineering College here is all set to become a deemed university after clearance from the University Grants Commission that came last week. When contacted, Prof Aruna Goel, a member of the commission, said all groundwork was complete and only a “notification” from the Ministry of Human Resource Development was needed.
