ALL it City Beautiful or City Babuful, people are passionate about it—whether in love or hatred. At the outset, I would like to make my stand clear—I love it, warts and all. And that’s why it hurts to see it sprawling instead of growing. To lament about its design or genetic flaws now is too late (In any case, plenty of anguish has already been expressed down the decades by wannabe town planners). Today, we have to make the best of what we have on our hands, including the mess it already is in. The pressures of a growing population, and probably a bit of greed too, are giving rise to concrete mushrooms all around the city.
